In the Art program grades K-12, students will extend and expand their visual arts study.  It is with this intensive study in a variety of selected creative and visual arts courses that the students will grow more sophisticated in their choices and ideas and strengthen their artistic capabilities.

The program is designed to enrich, to encourage critical thinking, to explore and understand historical influences, and to increase awareness of cultural diversity within the arts and its effect on society.

Within all courses, students should meet established standards, develop greater fluency in communicating about art, and exhibit greater artistic competence in all of their artistic endeavors.  Through the arts, students should learn to respect each other’s way of thinking, working and expressing themselves.  Above all, students are to understand the valuable role the arts have on their lives and how the arts have influenced society in the past, the present, and their potential impact on the future.
